Our Fabrics
"Many organic practices simply make sense, regardless of what overall agricultural system is used. Far from being a quaint throwback to an earlier time, organic agriculture is proving to be a serious contender in modern farming and a more environmentally sustainable system over the long term." - David Suzuki
Organic Cotton
Organic cotton is a healthy and natural alternative to conventional cotton, the farming of which is environmentally destructive (see links below for more information). Organic cotton:
- Is grown with natural fertilizers and is free from toxic chemicals.
- Is regulated by strict international guidelines and certified by an independent agency.
- Has a lower carbon footprint than traditional.
- Is not from genetically modified cottonseed.
- Is grown with natural pesticides and fertilizers -- no chemical defoliants are used.
- Does not compromise farmers or workers health and helps reduce toxic runoff.
Bamboo Fiber
Bamboo is one of the hottest fashion trends today. Although some compare its luxurious feel to cashmere, it is a fraction of the price, with the added benefit of being an eco-sustainable crop. Bamboo grows quickly without the use of pesticides and is completely biodegradable. Its natural antibacterial and moisture-wicking properties make it the best choice for active wear, yet its silky quality adds a level of extravagance.
- Anti-Bacterial and Odor Free - Natural anti-bacterial agent makes bamboo fiber apparel odor-resistant.
- Safe & Hypoallergenic - Bamboo fabric is not chemically treated, preventing skin allergies and irritations.
- Breathable & Cool - Bamboo clothing is highly breathable providing a cool, light texture and feel
- Absorbent & Fast Drying - Bamboo fiber micro-holes provide moisture absorption & ventilation
- Soft & Silky - Fabric from bamboo is softer than cotton, similar to silk or cashmere
- Natural & Eco-Friendly - Bamboo, a natural cellulose fiber is 100% biodegradable & grown without pesticides
